Aaaaah Atari, and the infamous "atari crash" that ET brought forth. Nintendo spawned out of it, and apparently is selling out just as much nowadays (well in my opinion, the Wii isn't exactly as much of a 'big hitter' as when it started) |

Oh I will end it with my logic and understanding of how Nintendo has the innate ability to shell out a new souless game every moon (with the exception of the chances they go wrong and give use something GOOD lately, such as Other M, Mario Galaxy 2, or something else that may have slipped my mind).
As for the Wii in general (and other motion sensors like the future Natal): In my opinion, motion detection isn't acceptable as grounds for an 'innovative' and 'constructive' gaming practice, as we've been seeing it done ages before the Wii with Sony's 'Eye Toy' and even before that on systems like the SEGA (SEGA something, I forget their system names earlier on) with their ring-like device in which players stood for early movement capture (as ineffective as it was).
The other reason why I don't think that motion detection is anything to get excited about (and this is the real 'opinion' part) is because unless you're getting actual feedback from the game, motion capture is pretty much the equivalent of pressing random buttons rapidly, with that being replaced with random limb flailing that isn't captured accurately (until as of late when the Wii finally had it's capture improved). Movement capture is old news, simply popularized with the corporate behemoth that is Nintendo.
more personal opinion: It's not Nintendo's fault either that the market has shifted (in gaming) the way it has, with the core demographic (or at least Nintendo's) seeming to want something 'new' and 'flashy'. But I would consider all of this motion sensor nonsense a step back when they could be using their profits into improving their system performance or at LEAST start experimenting with a new game for once. Mario (with the exception of Galaxy 1 and 2) has long since run his course with a new game in the series being released every time I have to use the bathroom, and even my long-time favorite Zelda series is slowly dying before me at the hands of the DS. Metroid will be difficult to ruin, unless of course they start putting Samus Aran into "Nintendo" sports games (which, come to think of it, I wouldn't mind considering the awesome space warrior babe that Samus is, power armor off or not I'd like to see her play some 'extreme' wii sports). Again, I don't blame Nintendo for the direction they've taken in motion detection, it's good to expiriment, but don't let your Frankenstein run amok when it's clearly time to give your lab a little overhaul to make it look a little prettier. (metaphor meaning "please improve the graphics", but that's wishful thinking).
Oh yeah, and to add to the last post: I have 2 ataries(?) both working

one more point
maybe nintendo took that way because it always has been a company for kids basicaly...
and it is a easy way to sell (basic motion=kids =dad an mom buying it)
and really i dont undestand why always this kind of threads get out of control and talk talk talk with no end
